Welcome to the

UTICA MARSH

 

The Utica Marsh, an urban wetland of 213 acres, lies mostly within the city of Utica, New York (U.S.A.), and provides a home for diverse plants and animals. It is a mixture of different wetland habitats that border the Mohawk River and New York Barge Canal. The Utica Marsh is a wildlife management area of the state of New York, managed by the NYS Dept. Environmental Conservation.

The Utica Marsh Council is a non- profit, volunteer organization that:

  • promotes environmental education using the Utica Marsh
  • works for conservation of marsh resources
  • advises NYS DEC on matters affecting the Utica Marsh

Monthly meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday each month at Utica College (208 DePerno Hall). The remaining meetings for spring, 2008, are Apr 17, May 22, Jun 19. You are welcome to join us!
