Research Interests

I study the biology of of plants in relation to their environment. How do the physical environment and herbivores limit plant growth and how do plants respond physiologically and morphologically to those limitations? Recently I have focused on the ecology of a group of Aster species that range in natural habitat from open field to forest understory. As can be seen from the titles of Senior Projects that I have advised, I am happy to support student research in many areas of plant ecology or organismal plant physiology.

Senior Projects
