Accessibility

Next Friday, April 6, Koert Wehberg will be here to discuss some recent developments in disability law as they relate to web accessibility. He'll be speaking in the Red Pit at 4:15 pm. Attendance is mandatory. (Come by my office after class today if you have a scheduling conflict.)

Today, we'll begin discussing:

Here are links to some documents we'll talk about today.

Quiz 7

(You didn't really think you were going to get away without a quiz today, did you?)

For this quiz, you will create a webpage in the usual way, making sure that all the appropriate things are done to the page (title element, description meta tag, correct linking to your stylesheet and images, correct file permissions set, etc.). This webpage will contain an analysis of the design of a website you visit frequently. Your analysis will be conducted in light of the page layout issues you read about in the assigned reading (i.e., Duckett, ch. 11). In particular, you must assess in what way the website you're analyzing addresses the following issues. (Say both how the issue is addressed and whether you think the website does a good job with respect to that particular issue.)

You should end your analysis with a general assessment of the website.

Put a link to Quiz 7 on your homepage. Your quiz must be posted by 5:00 pm tomorrow (i.e., Friday, March 30).
