Websites

Find a website that you think is well-designed. Identify five features that you think contribute to its good design and explain why each feature contributes to your ability to use the website effectively.

Find a website that you don't think is very well-designed. Identify five features of the website (they don't all have to be bad, but presumably some will be). For each feature you've identified, explain the problem (or if it's not a problem, explain how it contributes to usability).

In your homework directory on warp, create a text document in emacs containing this assignment. Give it an appropriate filename with the extension text.

Web Browsers

In addition to the “big two” browsers (Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator), your lab computers have the Firefox and Opera browsers installed. Experiment with these browsers.

For each browser, identify a best feature and a worst feature. Explain clearly what each of these are and why you like/dislike them. Then explain which browser you like best at this point; say what's good about it, and explain why you like it better than each of the other browsers.

In your homework directory on warp, create a text document in emacs containing this assignment. Give it an appropriate filename with the extension text.
