Digital Arts Studio Use Policies

1) No food or drink is permitted in any of the digital arts facilities.

2) Priority for scheduling of the Video Production Studio and Light Lab (KTSA 140) and the Audio Production Studio and Sound Lab (KTSA 139) goes to:

  • Digital Arts courses
  • Students who have projects for Digital Arts courses
  • Digital Arts faculty who have research, artistic projects, or course-related projects
  • Courses that are not Digital Arts courses (class meetings, students who have projects for these courses, faculty who have research or course-related projects)
  • Faculty and staff who have projects related to the EDx initiative
  • Recognized student groups
  • Unrecognized student, faculty, or staff groups

3) Please schedule the Video Production Studio and Light Lab (KTSA 140) and the Audio Production Studio and Sound Lab (KTSA 139) and the associated technical support staff though the Events Calendar. Contact Liz Spaziani and AV Services (espazian at hamilton.edu, 859-4243) with any questions about booking or use of the spaces.

4) Priority for the use of the Editing Rooms (KTSA 135-138) goes to:

  • Art, Music, or Theatre students working on senior projects in the digital arts
  • Digital Arts faculty who have research, artistic projects, or course-related projects
  • Other students (or small groups of students) who have projects for Digital Arts courses

Other faculty, staff, or students who have projects for which one of the Editing Rooms might be useful can gain access with the approval of the chair of the Digital Arts Program.

The Editing Rooms are generally available on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, during periods of peak use, the director of the Digital Arts Lab (Bret Olsen) might establish procedures for reserving these rooms.

5) The Screening Room (KTSA 124) is reserved for use by Digital Arts courses. Other courses may also schedule events in the Screening Room, with the approval of the director of the Digital Arts Program (Professor Ella Gant). Please schedule the Screening Room and the associated technical support staff though the Events Calendar. Contact Liz Spaziani and AV Services (espazian at hamilton.edu, 859-4243) with any questions about booking or use of the Screening Room.

6) These facilities are for educational use only and are not intended to compete with local and regional video and audio production facilities.
