James S. Sherman Professor of Government and Vice
President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty
David C. Paris, VPAA/Dean of the Faculty and James S. Sherman Professor
of Government, specializes in education policy, political thought
and democratic theory. He is the author of Ideology and Education
Reform: Themes and Theories in Public Education, (Westview
Press, 1995), and "Standards and Charters: Horace Mann Meets
Tinkerbell" in Educational Policy (1998) and a number of other
articles. He received his Ph.D. from Syracuse University and has
been a member of Hamilton College's faculty since 1979.
