Introduction
The Microscopy and Imaging Facility at Hamilton College is an interdepartmental laboratory located in the Biology Department. The mission of the lab is to teach undergraduate students microscopy by offering laboratory intensive courses in Scientific Imaging, Transmission Electron Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy, and X-Ray Microanalysis. The laboratory provides students and faculty with state-of-the-art digital imaging equipment for morphological investigations and senior research projects. The facility was established in 1986 and major equipment was acquired with funds from the Kresge Foundation, the Sherman Fairchild Foundation, and the National Science Foundation - ILI Program.
