Work in Progress
- First Language Acquisition by Chinese Children in Different
Language Settings, a book co-authored with Dr. Saville-Troike
on a two-year longitudinal study of two children's language
development in China.
- Studies on Topic-comment Structures, book edited,
contains fourteen articles exploring the unique structure of
topic-comment in different languages from the perspectives of
syntax, semantics, pragmatics, typology, language acquisition, and
psycholinguistics. The fourteen articles have been selected and
are in the process of revision
- China in the 90's, a textbook co-authored with De Bao
Xu, introduces the current social issues such as single child
policy, privatization, educational crisis, divorce, and DINK
couples, etc. in China in the 90's, thought provoking questions
are provided at the end of each topic
- Studying in China: Living (Vol I), Studying in Beijing:
Culture (Vol II): a two volume-set of textbooks incorporated
with authentic multimedia meaterials, co-authored with De Bao Xu
et al, designed specially for students who are participating in
the ACC program at the intermediate level to make the best use of
language environment and multiple language input. The textbook
series has been test-used in Beijing and at Hamilton College.
