This manuscript, which is shown here slightly larger than actual size, is a copy on parchment of St. Antoninus's Confessionale, a handbook on confession and penance made in northern Italy in 1465. It was purchased by the Foreman Fund for Innovations in Teaching at the request of professors in Hamilton's Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program, who use it in class discussions on medieval book production and scribal practice. These classes give students hands-on experience with this and other rare books from the fifteenth century.
