Case Review

This section of our site focuses on relevant court cases that have had an influential impact on the study of Title IX. We explain several different types of cases that show occasions where women's teams have been reinstated, men's team have been denied reinstatement, and coaches use Title IX (equal pay lawsuits).

Case Study: Large School vs. Small School

This section describes general trends in Title IX compliance between large schools and small schools. It focuses on the current compliance of two representative institutions: Hamilton College, a small Division III school, and Syracuse University, a large Division I-A school.

Analysis

This section reviews the 25 year history of Title IX, and it looks at the opportunities created for females in an attempt to achieve equity. We also look at some of the negative effects of Title IX. Most important, we speculate on the future of Title IX and its consequences for education as a whole.
