Semester in D.C.
In 1969 the Semester in Washington Program was established as part
of the Government program at Hamilton College. The program consists
of internships in federal, legislative, and executive offices, as well
as a regular seminar program and an independent research project. Although
the program is generally intended for Juniors, both Seniors and Sophomores
are eligible, and non-government majors can also participate.
A Hamilton professor accompanies the students to D.C. to teach the
seminar and serve as their advisor throughout the semester. Students
are responsible for finding their own internship.
