WHAT SORT OF WORLD...
What sort of world
leaves its weak to struggle so?
What sort of world lets its might heedless go?
The weary cry out.
The angry ones shout.
All of the world seems a place where outrage grows.
Lord, let justice roll down like the waters,
and righteousness like an ever flowing stream,
and may the love of God for us,
show us the way:
this is our dream.
Throughout this world
people labor on and on,
working the fields
or sweatshops all day long.
Day after day,
such meager pay;
So do the poor feed and clothe the rich and strong.
Lord, let justice roll down like the waters,
and righteousness like an ever flowing stream,
and may the love of God for us,
show us the way:
this is our dream.
What sort of world
borrows billions from its young
to pay the bill for the folly of the old?
Unending war,
still spending more,
futures foreclosed by consumption uncontrolled.
Lord, let justice roll down like the waters,
and righteousness like an ever flowing stream,
and may the love of God for us,
show us the way:
this is our dream.
Lord, let justice roll down like the waters,
and righteousness like an ever flowing stream,
and may the love of God for us,
show us the way,
oh Lord we pray,
show us the way,
a better day,
show us the way:
this is our dream.
