Halloween 99

Our little pumpkin dressed up as... well... a pumpkin. The jack-o-lantern costume was cute, but most people only saw the head and thought that she was an elf. Our trip through the neighborhood was very very productive. We didn't get any candy, but we found several two year olds and an infant. We also heard that hear that the stork is on the way to another neighbor. It sounds like there will be quite a collection of freinds for Charlotte (and parents of young kids for mom and dad to talk to) right behind our house.

Solid food is getting to be more fun. In the first week in November, Charlotte realized that the food that mom and dad smeared on her face was actually pretty good to eat. One day she actually opened her mouth for the first time. The next day she opened it several times. Now she takes the fingers out, opens up, and strains her neck to get at those peas and carrots. Carrots and sweet potatoes are the best, but she is enjoying peas and cereal as well. Here we see the little wonder sporting the latest in facial-wear, and eagerly anticipating another bite.

Bonnie, on the other hand, is very frustrated. We started feeding Charlotte in a swing where Bonnie cold do her part to clean Charlotte's hands (and face). This high chair stuff is just too tall, so a dejected little pup circles the chair looking for an opportunity, and occasionally licking Charlotte's socks.

In other news, Charlotte is now sitting by herself. She still forgets to balance sometimes, but she is getting pretty good at it. We still have a little time before she starts crawling, but we need to start the baby-proofing soon. Here we see the little girly exploring the sandpaper on dads face. She also likes to grap at lower lips and Bonnie's eyebrows.
