Southern Appalachians
The Quinn Lab is involved in research into the deep history of mining in the southern Appalachians. This projects connects faculty and students at Hamilton College and Appalachian State University to use archaeological techniques to understand the roles of southern Appalachian copper, mica, and other raw materials in social, economic, political, and ideological systems across the Eastern Woodlands.
