La
Vanguardia was co-founded thirteen years
ago by two Hamilton alumni, Larry Arias
and Daniel Garcia. The initial goal of La
Vanguardia was to redirect attention to
issues concerning Latinos on the hill. The
purpose of the organization was, and still
is, to serve as a space of support and
cultural enrichment for students of Latino
backgrounds. also, La Vanguardia serves as
a political organization that comprehends
and deals with issues affecting Latinos
within and outside the Hamilton Community.
Since its existence, La Vanguardia has
proven itsservice to the Latino community
on and off the hill, as well as to the
rest of the Hamilton community. Today, The
organization is run with a family focus.
We hold weekley meetings over dinners that
we cook ourselves in wich we discuss
current events and make plans for
activities all members will enjoy. We have
only two elected positions of
co-coordinators that serve the
organization.
