- Identify contributors and assign roles
- Identify the content for the site
- Create and assemble the content
- Categorize and organize the content
- Create a site framework
- Put the content into the site framework
- Apply visual design, layout and formatting to the site framework and content
- Check the site for errors and obtain and apply feedback
- Announce and advertise the web site
Understanding the subpage links
This site contains the four basic steps listed below. These steps are iterative; for each basic stage of the process, one or more steps will apply. For example, at a particular stage, you may need to learn how to use a particular application, plan when to meet as a group to work on the site, actually create the content using the application identified, and then review the content that you created. Not all weeks will require all four steps
- Learning: research your content, watch video tutorials, and/or read documentation
- Planning: meeting with others involved in the production of the web site, identifying and organizing your information
- Creating: creating content and applying formatting, layout and design
- Reviewing: obtaining feedback and making changes
