Summer Program in Philosophy
CFP: Inclusivity Consultant
This year, for the first time, the HCSPiP committee is thrilled to announce we will be hiring an inclusivity consultant to support our 2023 program.
The inclusivity consultant, funded by an American Association of Philosophy Teachers (AAPT) Grant for Innovation in Teaching, will help prepare faculty and tutors for the program. Our goal is to promote equity among student voices and help us to place diverse perspectives at the center of the curriculum. The inclusivity consultant is a pilot position designed to improve our program. The consultant will help instructors both to create productive learning spaces within the program and to carry skills learned during the workshop to their home institutions.
We are open to a variety of approaches, but we imagine that the consultant’s tasks will include:
- Reviewing and providing feedback on instructors’ draft syllabuses;
- Holding a pre-program workshop with instructors and tutors; and
- Providing other support and advice in preparation for the HCSPiP.
Candidates should have experience teaching in diverse and inclusive spaces, familiarity with the scholarship of teaching and learning around inclusion, and an interest in working collaboratively with HCSPiP instructors and tutors in May and June 2023. The consultant will receive a stipend of $1000, funded by the AAPT Grant for Innovation in Teaching.
To apply, send a brief description of your expertise and a CV to hcspip@hamilton.edu. Deadline March 1, 2023.
