Global Citizenship

Some may say that Japan is dramatically different from the U.S. in many respects, but it is also surprisingly similar to the U.S. in other aspects.

When you study the historical, political, societal, and artistic factors that contributed to the formation of complex modern Japan as a major player in the global economy, you will understand important aspects of diversity in our world. You will also inevitably learn about Japan’s relationship with other nations, cultures, and regions in the world. In other words, your study of Japan helps you understand how the increasingly globalized world works, or, in certain cases, does not work.
