ARTIST STATEMENT:
The body is the only vessel I can control to live and move through this vibrating existence. In studio practice, I feel the ways my body reacts to internal turmoil within me, nights of pacing, constant movement, a chaos of the mind. They make marks on my paper as I walk over them, fueling my obsession with print and mark making.
Through this process I aim to make the invisible, visible. Using cyclical processes, repetitive technique and a little bit of impulse, I try to emulate inner turmoil and bring a personal voice to the public sphere. In creating, I am able to confront my own manifestations and attempt to resolve them. By solidifying my experiences, I hope to bring out sensations rooted in reality, and help viewers better identify with enduring similar struggles.
