ARTIST STATEMENT:
Why does my skin seem like a stranger’s suit? I try to answer this question through a collection of self portraits exploring the ways in which I have been brainwashed to experience my own body through a series of socially deter-mined filters. Using satirical and surrealistic elements, I have attempted to convey the confusing, contradictory, and unsettling narratives society has fed me and my peers about the skin we’re in.
