ARTIST STATEMENT:

Clarity, abstraction, beauty, the gaze and boundaries. 

My photographs explore the amenable relationship between observer, artist and model. I like to think of my project as a pendulum swinging between the abstract and the figurative. By playing with degrees of abstraction, I conceal and reveal the female form in multiple ways. Coupled with the distance between the observer and artist created through my manipulation of materials, I wish to present different visual perspectives on female identity.
